DE WITT -- Grace Fennelly scored 18 of her 20 points in the first half to lead Davenport Assumption to a 44-16 lead and the No. 4 Knights mauled Marion, 81-39, Tuesday night in a Class 3A regional final girls basketball game.

Assumption (22-2) will defend its title in next week's state tournament at Des Moines.

Assumption finished with ten 3-pointers, including eight in the first half.

Marion (15-9) was led by Beth Knapp's 13 points. She scored nine in the second half. Dani Peyton and Alyssa Jones added six points apiece.

Marion shot 27 percent, Assumption 44 percent.
