MANCHESTER - Marion High School senior Lukas Mees was in a hurry at the West Delaware Invitational Thursday.

Mees set a school record in the 1600 meter run and posted the third-fastest time in the state this season with a 4:23.08 clocking.

The Indians also broke school records in the 4x200 relay and the shuttle hurdle relay while winning those events. Taylor Rogers claimed the 110 high hurdles and the Indians also prevailed in the 4x100 relay.

Marion finished second in the team standings behind Decorah, even though Coach Scott Immerfall rested some of his athletes in some events. Decorah won the title of the 11-team meet with 121 points, with Marion at 116.5.
