Warriors split a pair of girls soccer tilts

The Washington girls soccer team split a pair of games Saturday at Tuma.

The Warriors were beaten by Cedar Falls, 2-1 in a shootout, then whipped Waterloo West, 6-1.

Maddi Hines scored four goals during the two games. She scored the Warriors' only goal against Cedar Falls, then scored three goals against West.

MJ Kamin had three assists, one in the opener and two in the nightcap.

Lydia Kravotil, Sarah Keppler and Katie Hammond also scored goals for Washington.

Washington put nine shots on goal to just five for Cedar Falls. The Tigers won the game on penalty kicks, 4-3.

The Warriors took 14 shots against West. The Wahawks put only three on goal.

Washington is 9-4 overall, 7-4 in the MVC.
