EPWORTH - Beth Heims finished fourth and led the Prairie team to a second-place finish Thursday in the Western Dubuque Invitational girls cross country meet.

Prairie finished in a tie for second with Western Dubuque at 118 points. The Hawks were awarded second because their sixth-place finisher - Hope Steimel - was 44th and Western Dubuque's sixth-place finisher was 60th.

Mariah Kauder and Kylie Kelchen finished 1-2 to lead Cascade to the team title with 69 points.

Prairie's Katie Costigan was 11th.

Monticello made a rout of the boys race, placing five runners in the top six for a near-perfect 17.

Prairie finished fifth. Freshman Tysen Vandraska finished 17th to lead the Hawks.
