The Linn-Mar Lions have been ranked second in the Class 3A preseason wrestling poll by The Predicament, one spot behind Southeast Polk.

The Prairie Hawks are ranked fifth.

Three Linn-Mar wrestlers are ranked No. 1 in their weight class with Matt Wempen (113), Alijah Jeffery (120) and Ross Lembeck (152). Wempen is a defending state champion.

Eight Lions are ranked with Joel Northrup No. 2 (145), Justin Green No. 3 (220), Damon Griffin No. 4 (126), Andrew Holladay No. 6 (182) and Noah Ajram No. 9 (106).

Prairie boasts seven ranked grapplers with Josh Wenger No. 3 (126), Cameron Rathje No. 3 (170), Andrew Netolicky No. 3 (285), Austin Gould No. 4 (182), Trey Blaha No. 5 (138), Skyler St. John No. 5 (152) and Sam Uthoff No. 8 (106).

Jefferson has three ranked wrestlers with Brenden Baker No. 6 (106), Kelly May No. 8 (152) and Michael Moncivais No. 10 (126).

Kennedy also has three ranked grapplers with J.D. Ruzicka No. 9 (132), Zach Goodall No. 9 (220) and Logen Rodriguez No. 10 (113).
