Marion girls roll past Waverly-Shell Rock

Taylor Lamm rolled games of 161 and 159 for a 320 series that sent Marion past Waverly-Shell Rock, 2232-2095, Tuesday in a girls bowling meet at Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Juliah and Joiah Bandfield each rolled 158 games for Marion. Both also topped the 300 series mark.

WAVERLY-SHELL ROCK (2095): Kara Roggeman 124-228, Amber Drilling 156-270, Kristin Krause 142-258, Carolyn Corson 179-343, Shanna Ingersoll 135-267.

MARION (2232): Emily Clapp 143-267, Joiah Bandfield 158-301, Juliah Bandfield 158-305, Stephanie Loesel 153-293, Taylor Lamm 161-320.

First round -- Marion 1486, Waverly-SR 1366. Baker round -- Marion 746, Waverly-SR 729.

Juliah Bandfield all-tourney at Camanche

CAMANCHE -- Juliah Bandfield of Marion finished fifth at the Camanche bowling tournament Saturday with a two-game series of 137-194--331 and made the all-tournament team.

The Marion girls placed third in the four-team standings.

The Marion boys finished last in their division. Zach Burhite led the Indians with a 191-189--380.

Marion - Girls Bowling

Girls just miss beating boys

WATERLOO -- Emily Clapp rolled a 174 high game and 324 series to lead the Marion girls in their match Friday against the AGWSR boys JV team.

Marion lost, 2244-2218. The Indians rolled against the AGWSR boys JV team because AGWSR does not field a girls team.

Stephanie Loesel recorded games of 165 and 145 for a 310 series for Marion.

Marion - Girls Bowling

Indian girls bowlers rally past Denver

WATERLOO -- Marion outscored Denver by 90 pins in the Baker round and rallied past the Cyclones, 2123-2082, Friday afternoon in a girls prep bowling meet at Maple Lanes.

Emily Clapp rolled a high game of 177 for Marion (7-6). Stephanie Loesel had high series of 314.

The Indians trailed by 49 pins after the first round but were spurred by a 188 game in the Baker round.

Marion - Girls Bowling

Joiah Banfield lifts Marion bowlers by Tripoli

Joiah Banfield rolled a 428 series Tuesday to lead all bowlers by at least 106 pins as Marion topped Tripoli 2276-2138 at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Banfield had games of 200 and 228, the only 200-plus games in the meet.
