Marion boys serve up victory

Brandon Hornback cruised to a 10-1 victory at No. 1 singles Monday as Marion tripped Western Dubuque, 6-3, in a Wamac Conference tennis meet at Marion.

Michael Anderson, Tristan Beghtol and Kyle Kennedy also won singles matches for the Indians.

Pair of doubles wins pace Indians to victory

EPWORTH -- Marion won a pair of doubles matches to pull out a 5-4 win over Western Dubuque in a boys tennis meet Monday.

Brandon Hornback, Michael Anderson and Tristan Beghtol won singles matches for Marion. Hornback and Beghtol then teamed to win at No. 1 doubles and Anderson and Nick Meeks won at No. 2 doubles to pull out the win.

Marion routs Oelwein in boys tennis

Marion's Brandon Hornback beat Jacob Mohlis, 10-0, at No. 1 singles Tuesday to lead the Indians to an 8-1 rout of Oelwein in boys tennis.

Marion's Michael Anderson and Tristan Beghtol also won by 10-0 scores.

The Indians have rescheduled their match against Union that was postponed April 12. The match will be played Thursday at 4 p.m.

TAMA -- The Marion boys tennis team surrendered only three points Monday and routed South Tama, 9-0.

Brandon Hornback, Michael Anderson, Tristan Beghtol, Caleb Scott and Blake Nielsen all won their singles matches by 10-0 scores. Nick Meeks won 10-1.
