Marion boys 3rd at Wamac tennis meet
WATERLOO - The young Marion High School boys tennis team tied for third at the Wamac Conference meet in Waterloo Tuesday.
Sophomores Brandon Hornback, Michael Anderson and Tristan Beghtol all finished second in their brackets for the Indians at No.1, No.2 and No.3 singles, respectively. All three of them lost to Waterloo Columbus players in the finals.
Hornback and Anderson placed second at No.1 doubles to a pair from Columbus.
Waterloo Columbus won the title with 42 points. Western Dubuque placed second with 27 points, followed by Marion and Independence with 25 points apiece. Maquoketa was fifth with 16 markers.
