Indians roll over South Tama in boys tennis

The Marion Indians won 90 out of 99 games Monday and stomped South Tama, 9-0, in a boys tennis meet at Marion.

Brandon Hornback and Michael Anderson did not lose a game all day. Hornback won 10-0 at No.1 singles, Anderson won 10-0 at No.2 singles and they combined to win 10-0 at No.1 doubles.

Kaleb Gehman and Sam Williams performed a similar trick at No.5 singles, No.6 singles and No.3 doubles.

Indians trip Indee in Wamac boys tennis

INDEPENDENCE - Brandon Hornback, Michael Anderson, Tristan Beghtol and Sam Williams won singles matches Thursday as Marion clipped Independence, 5-4, in boys tennis.

Hornback and Anderson gave Marion a crucial victory at first doubles.

Hornback wins title at Prairie Invitational

Jefferson sophomore Daniel Britton won No. 2 singles and the J-Hawks swept the top two doubles spots en route to the title of the Prairie Invitational boys tennis tournament.

Jefferson's Eddie Segarra and senior Andrew Miller won the No. 1 doubles title. The J-Hawks' Colton Jourdan and Zach Ficken teamed to win the No. 2 doubles.

Marion's Brandon Hornback won the No. 1 singles title.

Jefferson scored 38 points and neat host Prairie by 10 points. Marion was third with 19 points in the seven-team event.

Anderson notches win for Indians

CAMANCHE -- Michael Anderson won a tight match at No.2 singles for the Marion Indians Thursday in an 8-1 loss at Camanche in boys tennis.

Anderson trimmed Jace Deering, 11-10, winning the tiebreaker 7-3.
