Kadolph rolls hot, but Hawks fall to Linn-Mar

Abbey Stenersen had the hot hand, rolling a 263 high game and a 393 series, and teammate McKenzie Routhe fired a 399 series to lead Linn-Mar past Prairie, 2670-2513, Monday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling meet at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

The meet was the regular-season finale for both teams.

Routhe had a 229 game, Nicole McMahon a 221 and Stacey Schwarzenstein a 212 for Linn-Mar (7-7, 6-5 MVC).

Jamie Kadolph rolled a high game of 256 and series of 449 for Prairie (5-9, 4-7). Brittany Meyers had a 204 high game.

Linn-Mar will compete in the Class 2A regional tournament Saturday at May City Bowl. Prairie is in the Marshalltown regional.

PRAIRIE (2513): Brittany Meyers 204-380, Niona Bruce 198-376, Brianna Wagner 175-319, Rebecca Kacena 122-232, Jamie Kadolph 256-449.

LINN-MAR (2670): Stacey Schwarzenstein 212-352, Abbey Stenersen 263-393, Nicole McMahon 221-336, McKenzie Routhe 229-399, Amy Pickering 196-349.

First round -- Linn-Mar 1829, Prairie 1756. Baker round -- Linn-Mar 841, Prairie 757.

Prairie girls roll in the Baker round

Prairie used a 131-pin advantage in the Baker round to rally past Iowa City High, 2500-2383, Friday in a Mississippi Vallley Conference girls bowling meet at Lancer Lanes.

City High (6-7, 5-5 MVC) held a 14-pin lead after the first round. Prairie's top three scores in the five-game Baker round were 202, 200 and 196 while City High did not break 175.

Jamie Kadolph led Prairie (5-8, 4-6) with a high game of 204 and 371 series.

IOWA CITY HIGH (2383): Shannon Koppes 177-312, Natalie Harapat 154-292, Brittany Tacke 169-314, Taylor Leonard 178-338, Abby Saehler 166-326.

PRAIRIE (2500): Niona Bruce 137-274, Brianna Wagner 197-329, Rebecca Kacena 155-282, Jamie Kadolph 204-371, Kate Palmer 174-312.

First round -- City High 1582, Prairie 1568. Baker round -- Prairie 932, City High 801.

Hawks can't slow J-Hawks

Courtney Moore had the hot hand for the Jefferson girls bowling team Friday afternoon at May City Bowl. Moore rolled games of 235 and 229 for a 464 series that carried the J-Hawks past Prairie, 2744-2468, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet.

The win kept the J-Hawks (11-2, 9-0 MVC) perfect in the conference. Allie Trcka rolled a 210 game and 377 series, and Nicole Petersen a 213 game and 376 series.

Kate Palmer led Prairie (4-8, 3-6). She rolled a high game of 209 and 364 series.

PRAIRIE (2468): Brittany Meyers 168-314, Niona Bruce 195-365, Brianna Wagner 170-325, Jamie Kadolph 204-358, Kate Palmer 209-364.

JEFFERSON (2744): Nicole Werling 193-349, Courtney Moore 235-464, Allie Trcka 210-377, Nicole Petersen 213-376, Whitnie Jones 183-337.

First round -- Jefferson 1903, Prairie 1726. Baker round -- Jefferson 841, Prairie 742.

Subpar Hawks fall to East

WATERLOO -- The Prairie girls rolled nearly 125 pins off their season average and were beaten by Waterloo East, 2209-2175, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference bowling match.

Prairie (4-7, 3-5 MVC) came into Friday's match with a 2299 average, but had only two bowlers crack 300 in the first round in falling 70 pins behind East (2-6, 2-6).

Brianna Wagner led Prairie with a high game of 195 and a 329 series. Niona Bruce had a 301 series.

Gregory's 506 sinks Prairie girls

Kelsey Gregory fired  games of 277 and 229 for a 506 series that powered Dubuque Wahlert past Prairie, 2555-2446, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling meet at Lancer Lanes.

Kate Palmer had high game of 198 and tied Jamie Kadolph for team high series at 335 for Prairie (4-6, 3-4 MVC). Brianna Wagner rolled a 173 game.

Kristina Hochrein rolled a 219 for Wahlert (3-4, 3-4).
