Hawks finish 3rd at Finkbine

IOWA CITY - Cooper Reittinger led Prairie to third place Thursday in a boys golf quadrangular hosted by Iowa City West at Finkbine.

Muscatine won with a 153 team total. Iowa City West was two shots back and Prairie was 20 shots off the pace. Cedar Falls finished fourth.

Seda shoots 33 to lead Hawks

Prairie's Blake Seda shot a 1-over par 33 to lead the Hawks to a second-place finish in a boys golf triangular at Airport National.

Dubuque Wahlert had three golfers shoot par or better and posted a nine-shot victory. The Golden Eagles' Greg Lange was medalist with a 1-under 31.

Prairie bested Iowa City High by two strokes.

CEDAR FALLS - Dominic Rodriguez shared medalist honors with a 37 Thursday to help the Washington Warriors finish a tight second in a Mississippi Valley Conference quadrangular meet at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.

Cedar Falls nipped Washington for the title, 156-157. Jefferson placed third (170) and Prairie was fourth (173).

Rodriguez tied for first place with Alec Brown of Cedar Falls.

Zach Denny fired a 38 for Jefferson and Matt Edl had a 40 for Prairie.

Edl sparks Prairie at quad golf meet

WATERLOO - Matt Edl fired a 36 Thursday to help the Prairie Hawks finish second in a Mississippi Valley Conference quadrangular meet at the Irv Warren Golf Course in Waterloo.

Grant Simpson of Iowa City High claimed medalist honors with a 35. Edl finished a stroke back in second place.

Waterloo West won the meet with a four-man total of 153 for the nine-hole event. Prairie finished a strong second at 155. Xavier and City High both finished at 159, but the Saints got third on a tiebreaker.

Cal Clark shot a 38 for Prairie. Matt Junge led Xavier with a 39.
