Hawks humbled by Linn-Mar

Linn-Mar lost only three games in singles and routed Prairie, 9-0, Tuesday in Mississippi Valley Conference boys tennis at Linn-Mar.

"We had a fast start in singles and really played well in all six singles matches," Linn-Mar Coach Chris Wundram said. "We had some new guys (Tim Bancks, Dane Kester, Michael Weems and John Richards) come in for doubles and they really stepped up and played some good tennis to win their matches."

Linn-Mar improved to 9-2 overall, 8-1 in the MVC.

DUBUQUE - Jeremy Cline collected a 6-3, 6-4 victory for the Prairie tennis team at No.3 singles Monday during an 8-1 loss to Dubuque Hempstead in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet.

Prairie boys beat Waterloo East in tennis

WATERLOO -- Kyle Suther beat Lucas Pietan at No. 1 singles and sparked Prairie past Waterloo East, 6-3, Saturday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys tennis meet.

Derek Wheatley and Derek Willard were Prairie's only double winners.
