Prairie finishes 2nd at Pleasant Valley meet
PLEASANT VALLEY -- Zach Witte won four straight matches Saturday to help Prairie place second at the Pleasant Valley Duals.
Witte, ranked fourth in the state at 145 pounds, raised his spotless record to 27-0 with two pins, a technical fall and a major decision.
Freshmen Trey Blaha (103) and Chris Walters (119) both went 4-1 in the tournament for Prairie.
Harlem High School from Machesney Park, Ill., captured the team title with five straight victories, including a 37-20 verdict over Prairie.
Prairie beat Pleasant Valley (47-11), Dubuque Hempstead (57-21), Oskaloosa (60-13) and Des Moines North-Hoover (64-16).
