Taylor rolls 460 for Wash boys

IOWA CITY – John Taylor had a 244 game and a 460 series to lead the Washington boys bowling team to a 2,653 to 2,603 win over Iowa City High on Friday at Colonial Lanes.

Logan Crawford had a 401 series for the Little Hawks.

Washington (2,653): John Taylor 216-244=460, Donovan Trimble 212-192=404, Bryan Cline 181-183=364, Gabe Wedel 180-159=339, Zach Nading 145-128=273, Chris Schuttloffel 137-131=268.

Cedar Falls edges Washington

Bryan Cline led the Washington boys bowling team with a 467 series in a close 3,005 to 2,904 loss to Cedar Falls on Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Jackson Reynolds had a 481 series to lead the Tigers.

Baccam’s 501 leads Jefferson

Victor Baccam had a 501 series to lead the Jefferson boys bowling team to a 3,075 to 2,380 win over Washington on Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Chris Schuttloffel had a 337 series for the Warriors.

Kennedy boys out-bowl Wash

James Jambois led Kennedy with a 425 series as the Cougars downed  Washington, 2,992-2,575, in the boys bowling opener for both schools Monday at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Bryan Cline led Washington with a 447 series.

Kaness, Kluth top all-MVC boys bowling

Kyle Kaness of Washington and Austin Kluth of Jefferson have been named the Athletes of the Year on the 2014 Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling team, as selected by the MVC coaches.

Kaness was named the Athlete of the Year in the Valley Division and Kluth was honored as the Athlete of the Year in the Mississippi Division.

Caleb Miller of Xavier, Seth Tegtmeier of Linn-Mar and Bryan Cline of Washington joined Kaness on the Valley Division first team. Victor Baccam of Jefferson joined Kluth on the Mississippi Division first team.
