Kaness, Miller lead boys All-Metro bowling

Kyle Kaness of Washington and Caleb Miller of Xavier have been named the Co-Athletes of the Year on the 2014 All-Metro boys bowling team, as selected by Metro coaches.

Kaness, Miller and Victor Baccam of Jefferson were unanimous picks on the first team. They were joined by Austin Kluth of Jefferson, Seth Tegtmeier of Linn-Mar and Josh Kacena of Prairie.

Mat Fowler of Jefferson was named the Coach of the Year. Fowler is an assistant coach with the J-Hawks.

Washington - Boys Bowling

Wood helps IC West knock off Wash

IOWA CITY - Kyle Kaness rolled a 410 series and Bryan Cline a 407 in Washington's 2816-2709 boys bowling loss to Iowa City West Friday at Colonial Lanes.

Kaness had high game for the Warriors with a 217.

West's Patrick Wood had high game of 258 and high series of 422.

Cline shoots 456, Warriors rally past Hawks

Washington overcame a 59-pin deficit to beat Prairie, 2861-2850, Friday in boys bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Bryan Cline led the Warriors with games of 227 and 229 for a 456 high series. Kyle Kaness had a 439 series for Washington.

Prairie was led by Andrew Galloro, who rolled a high game of 242 and a 448 series. Josh Kacena had a 413 series.

Prairie held a 59-pin lead after the first round. Washington finally took the lead with a 233 in the fourth game of the Baker round.

Kaness fires 493 to lead Warriors

Kyle Kaness had the hot hand Friday for the Washington boys bowling team, rolling games of 227 and 266 for a 493 series that led the Warriors to a 2960-2770 win over Dubuque Wahlert.

Washington recorded a season best 1097 in the Baker round to erase a 52-pin deficit.

Kaness has the groove for Warriors

CEDAR FALLS - Kyle Kaness had the groove Friday for Washington, rolling games of 278 and 216 for a 494 series, but the Warriors were beaten by Cedar Falls, 2594-2549, in boys bowling.
