Hempstead girls outbowl Warriors

DUBUQUE - Shania Christensen paced Washington with a 283, but it wasn't  enough as Dubuque Hempstead downed the Warriors, 2,560-2,044 in girls bowling action Tuesday at Cherry Lanes.

Kaylee Gerken led the Mustangs with a 393, including a 213 in her second game.

Washington (2,044): Shania Christensen 162-122=283, Ally Owens 148-132=280, Lucy Forster 151-118=269, Lynze Moon 137-151=288, Viola Niyizigama 127-110=237, Ella Wake 126-109=235.

Dubuque Hempstead (2,560): Elisa Schmidt 180-163=326, Kristina Gruber 134-183=317, Kaylee Gerken 180-213=393, Katlin Weber 168-147=315, Patrice Chapman 153-173=326, Liz Jahn 146-194=340.

Blood leads Prairie bowlers over Wash

Rylee Blood rolled a 420 series and Ashley Grady had a 218 game as the Prairie girls bowling team topped Washington 2,774 to 2,407 Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Shania Christensen had a 222 game and a 388 series for the Warriors.

Prairie (2,774): Rylee Blood 204-216=420, Ashley Grady 166-218=384, Mikayla Hite 190-184=374, Sabrina Keiper 149-193=342, Jade Kleinfelter 172-151=323, Emily Hartgrave 134-178=312.

Christensen leads Wash over Lions

Shania Christensen rolled a 257 game and 427 series Friday to help Washington defeat Linn-Mar, 2606-2513, in a Mississippi Valley Conference bowling meet at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Alexis Tschantz of Linn-Mar (3-5) challenged Christensen for top honors with a 425 series with games of 212 and 213. Lynze Moon had a 398 series for Washington (3-5).

IOWA CITY – Shania Christiensen had a 352 to lead the Washington girls bowling team in a 2,444 to 2,216 loss to Iowa City High on Friday at Colonial Lanes.

Brooke Shaw had a 381 series for the Little Hawks.

Christensen rolls 404 for Wash girls

Shania Christensen claimed top individual honors for the Washington girls bowling team Friday with a 404 series in a dual meet against Waterloo East at Lancer Lanes.

Waterloo East got a 403 series from Leah Frost and won the meet, 2737 to 2172.

Waterloo East: Leah Frost 225-178=403, Olivia Ferrie 165-163=328, Trisa Edler 158-188=346, Alissa Claasen 184-179=363, Josie Jacobs 222-156=378, Ashley Cary 146-172=318.
