Armstrong's 2 goals lead Saints past Wash

Kayla Armstrong scored two goals, added an assist and led Xavier past Washington, 3-0, Tuesday in girls soccer at Xavier.

Armstrong scored twice in the first half, both on assists from Sami Shepard.

Brylee Bastain's goal off an assist from Armstrong with 14:03 left salted the game away.

Xavier keeper Sarah Chicchelly had nine saves.

No.3 Linn-Mar girls blank Wash, 4-0

Jensen Sevening, Brooke Roberts, Claire Larson and Olivia Garcia scored goals Thursday night as No.3 Linn-Mar shut out Washington, 4-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match at Linn-Mar Stadium.

The Lions scored all four of their goals in the second half.

Sevening and Emily Manges had assists.

Rylie Frese made three saves for the shutout.

Washington girls bumped by Hempstead

The Washington girls soccer team was defeated by Dubuque Hempstead, 4-2, Tuesday night in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at Kingston Stadium.

Annee Cooper and Sarah Keppler scored goals for the Warriors.

Cooper's corner kick lifts Warriors

Annee Cooper's goal off a corner kick 7:16 into overtime lifted Washington past Prairie, 1-0, Thursday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls soccer match at Kingston Stadium.

The Warriors are 2-0. Prairie is 2-1.

Wash girls nip Wahlert in soccer

The Cedar Rapids Washington girls soccer team won a defensive struggle with Dubuque Wahlert, 1-0, Monday on a PK Shootout at Kingston Stadium.

The Warriors won the PK Shootout, 3-2, to escape with the victory.
