Serbousek leads Prairie past Wash

Mackenzie Serbousek scored two goals and handed out an assist to lead Prairie to a 4-2 girls soccer win over Washington on Thursday night at Kingston Stadium.

Paige Pritts and Hannah Kousheh also had goals for the Hawks. Kousheh and Cayla Renwick also had assists for Prairie.

Hannah Sacora and Katie Kigin scored for the Warriors. Toni Eniola had an assist for the Washington.

No.7 Kennedy girls shut out Warriors

Sydney Hayden, Melette Devore and Alyssa Drewelow scored goals Tuesday as the seventh-ranked Kennedy girls soccer team blanked Washington, 3-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference match.

Drewelow, Kasey Dekko and Morgan Petsche had assists for the Cougars.

Kennedy scored once in the first half and tacked on two goals in the second half.

Little Hawks blank Wash girls

Delaney Johnson scored off an assist Madison DePrenger as Iowa City High tallied the only goal of the night in a 1-0 Mississippi Valley Conference girls soccer match on Friday at Kingston Stadium.

Cooper lifts Wash girls in 2 OT

Hallie Cooper scored with 42 seconds left in the second overtime Tuesday to give the Cedar Rapids Washington girls soccer team a dramatic 1-0 victory over Dubuque Wahlert in a Mississippi Valley Conference battle at Kingston Stadium.

Hannah Sherman collected an assist on the game-winning goal.

Garcia tops all-MVC soccer team

Olivia Garcia of Linn-Mar has been named the Athlete of the Year on the Mississippi Valley Conference all-star soccer team in the Valley Division, as selected by MVC coaches.

Jensen Sevening, Claire Larson and Rylie Frese joined Garcia as first-team selections in the Valley Division from Linn-Mar.

Meleah Baloch, Andrew Reutzel and Hannah Kousheh of Prairie were first-team picks in the Valley Division. Elizabeth Bailey and Marisa Berutti of Xavier made the Valley first team, along with Hannah Schroeder and Annee Cooper of Washington.

Steve Dickinson and his assistants were named the Staff of the Year in the Valley Division.

Sydney Hayden, Kaela Dickerman and Jordan Holmes of Kennedy were first-team selections in the Mississippi Division.
