Nelson helps Wash dunk Williamsburg

Emily Nelson collected four victories Tuesday night as the Washington Warriors sank Williamsburg, 120-48, in a dual swim meet at Washington.

Nelson won the 100 butterfly and swam on the victorious 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Logan Eckhardt was a triple-winner on the three relays. Morgan Chambers, Lauren Havertape, Alyssa Harris and Delaney Thoma were double-winners for Washington.

The Warriors claimed 10 of 11 events. There was no varsity diving competition.

Kennedy girls swim by Washington

The Kennedy Cougars used a balanced attack to defeat Washington, 125.5-59.5, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls swimming meet at Washington Tuesday night.

MacKinzee Macho, Kirsten Siebenga, Darby Manternach, Lydia Yang, Maddie Bagby and Brooke Timmerman were all double-winners for Kennedy. Macho took two individual events in the 200 IM and 100 fly.

Emily Nelson claimed the 200 free and 500 free for Washington.

Washington - Girls Swimming

Jenks lowers school mark in 500 free

Linn-Mar sophomore lowered her school record in the 500-yard freestyle as the Lions rolled past Washington, 131.5-53.5, in a girls swimming dual meet Tuesday night at the Linn-Mar Aquatic Center.

Jenks touched in 5:09.45 to win the 500 free. She also won the 100 back and was a part of two winning relays.

Kelsey Drake matched Jenks, winning 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke and swimming on two winning relays.

Emily Nelson (200 free) was the lone event winner for the Warriors.

Wash swimmers nip Wahlert, 92-91

DUBUQUE - Delaney Thoma, Lauren Havertape, Emily Nelson and Logan Eckhardt won individual events Thursday night as Washington edged Dubuque Wahlert, 92-91, in a Mississippi Valley Conference swim meet at the Loras College pool in Dubuque.

Eckhardt, Nelson and Havertape joined Kaitlyn Nemickas on the victorious 200 medley relay.

Wahlert won seven of 12 events, but the Warriors prevailed on depth.

Wash girls dunked by Cedar Falls

The Cedar Falls Tigers won all 12 events Tuesday and sank Washington, 140-45, in the first Mississippi Valley Conference girls swim meet of the season at Washington

Madison Hall and Brittany Moffatt won two individual events for Cedar Falls.

Kaitlyn Nemickas placed second in the 100 backstroke for Washington. The Warriors also placed second in the 400 freestyle relay with Emily Nelson, Lucy Ernst, Lauren Havertape and Nemickas.
