Washington boys beat J-Hawk netters

Washington won all but one match and beat Jefferson, 8-1, Tuesday in boys tennis at Jefferson.

Washington's Mitch Blades beat Jacob Donald in tiebreaker in a spirited match at No.1 singles.

Blades. Jackson Hoyt, Reid Rossberger, Grant Kamin and Oliver Hammond all won a pair of matches for Washington.

Daniel Britton notched the J-Hawks' lone win in singles.

Wash boys netters cruise twice

The Washington boys routed a pair of tennis teams from Dubuque Saturday at Washington.

The Warriors beat Dubuque Hempstead, 8-1, then shutout Dubuque Senior, 9-0.

Jackson Hoyt, Ian Schweiger, Reid Rossberger and Oliver Hammond all had four wins for the Warriors.

The only match Washington lost was in a sudden-death tiebreaker at No.1 singles against Hempstead.

Wash netters blank Waterloo West

WATERLOO - Mitch Blades defeated Jacob Meyer, 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 at No.1 singles Tuesday as Washington blanked Waterloo West, 9-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meet in Waterloo.

Jackson Hoyt, Ian Schweiger, Reid Rossberger, Oliver Hammond and Grant Kamin also won their singles matches for the Warriors.

Washington boys split with Iowa City teams

The Washington boys tennis team tossed a shutout then had one thrown right back at them Saturday at Washington.

The Warriors beat Iowa City High, 9-0, in the morning then were blanked by Iowa City West, 9-0, in the afternoon.

Mitch Blades beat Holden Feagler, 6-3, 6-4, at No.1 singles against City High.
