No.1 Linn-Mar boys slam Warriors

Tim Paulson of Linn-Mar defeated Jackson Hoyt, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 singles Thursday as the top-ranked Lions knocked off fifth-ranked Washington 8-1 in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Linn-Mar.

The Lions remained unbeaten for the season and handed the Warriors their first loss.

Trevor McCann, Ben Myers, Shane Skvor, Kyle Brendes and Lucas Huffman also won their singles matches for Linn-Mar.

Washington - Boys Tennis

Warrior boys blank J-Hawks, 9-0

Parker Muller, Oliver Hammond and Will Rizer all won their matches without dropping a game as the Washington boys tennis team downed Jefferson, 9-0 at Jefferson.

Hammond and Jackson Hoyt also won at No. 1 doubles without dropping a match.

Washington boys net pair of wins

Oliver Hammond, Dane Van Antwerp and Will Rizer won both of their singles matches Saturday as the Washington Warriors collected a pair of Mississippi Valley Conference victories at the Washington courts.

The Warriors nipped Wahlert, 5-4, and blanked Hempstead, 9-0.

No.5 Warriors top No.7 Tigers

The fifth-ranked Cedar Rapids Washington boys tennis team trimmed No. 7 Cedar Falls, 5-4, Thursday in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Washington.

The two teams split their singles matches, 3-3. Washington prevailed at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 doubles to claim the meet.

Dane Van Antwerp and Will Rizer combined for a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. Jack Parmley and Ethan Wickham joined forces for a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at No. 3 doubles.

No.5 Warriors top Kennedy in tennis

The fifth-ranked Washington boys tennis team defeated Kennedy, 7-2, Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference met at Kennedy.

Parker Muller, Oliver Hammond, Will Rizer and Jack Parmley won their singles matches for the Warriors.

Kennedy freshman Rami Hemaidan defeated Jackson Hoyt at No. 1 singles, 7-6, 6-1.
