Foreman wins 126 title at Cascade

CASCADE - Will Foreman of Cedar Rapids Washington captured the 126-pound title at the Cascade Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday.

Foreman won by injury default in the championship round. He also collected a pin and major decision, raising his record to 21-1.

Logan Black-Marchard placed second at 145 pounds for the Warriors. Chris Karamitros (132) and Tyonchi Johnson (152) finished third for Washington.

Mount Vernon won the title with 246 points. Washington finished sixth out of 10 teams.

Foreman, Karamitros get pins for Wash

IOWA CITY – The Cedar Rapids Washington wrestling team suffered a 57-18 loss to Iowa City West in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet Thursday at West High.

Will Foreman (126) and Chris Karamitros (132) had first-period pins to start the night off strong for the Warriors, but the Trojans won the final nine matches.

DUBUQUE – The Washington wrestling team suffered a 50-23 loss to Dubuque Wahlert in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet Thursday at Wahlert.

Will Foreman had a 49-second pin over Denver Kammarude at 126 pounds to lead the Warriors. Logan Sears added an 18-2 technical fall in 5:13 over Harrison Haynes at 138.

Wash's Black-Marchand wins title at DeWitt

Cedar Rapids Washington's Logan Black-Marchand took top honors at 145 pounds Saturday, leading the Washington wrestling team to a fifth-place finish at the Central DeWitt Tournament.

Black-Marchand defeated Camanche's Noah Everson, 6-5, in the title match. The Warriors' Billy Faulkner finished second at 220. Washington finished with 116 points. Host Central DeWitt Central won the team title with 245 points.
