Xavier boys enjoy big day on lanes

The Xavier boys bowling team had the hot hand at May City Lanes Friday  and topped Waterloo West, 3112 to 2987, in a Mississippi Valley  Conference meet.

Michael Buenzow rolled a 246 game for the Saints and Jacob Fulton  collected a 454 series. Dale Weaver had a 243 game for the Saints,  while Charlie Hart turned in a 447 series with games of 226 and 221.

The Xavier girls were defeated by Waterloo West, 2800 to 2382.  Cheyanne Crane had a 209 game and 346 series for the Saints.

Xavier bowlers sweep Dubuque Wahlert

The Xavier High School bowling teams swept their Mississippi Valley Conference meets with Dubuque Wahlert Tuesday at May City Lanes.

Jacob Fulton rolled a 225 game and 437 series as the Xavier boys won their contest, 2804 to 2641.

Cheyanne Crane enjoyed a 202 game and 398 series as the Xavier girls won, 2517 to 2347.

Xavier bowlers swept by Prairie

The Xavier Saints were swept by the Prairie Hawks in Mississippi  Valley Conference bowling meets at May City Lanes Friday.

Prairie won the boys match, 3012 to 2729, behind a big 473 series by  Shawn Willie. Charlie Hart led Xavier with a 413 series.

The Hawks captured the girls match, 2969 to 2583, behind a 432 series  by Jade Klinefelter that included a 247 game. Tanya Zaugg led the  Saints with a 437 series.

Xavier bowlers sweep Iowa City High

IOWA CITY - The Xavier bowling teams swept their matches against Iowa  City High at Colonial Lanes in Iowa City Friday.

The Xavier boys trimmed the Little Hawks, 2724 to 2614, and the girls  rolled to a 2336-1762 victory.

Charlie Hart led the Xavier boys with a 234 game and Michael Buenzow  had a 389 series.

Katie Langholz topped the Xavier girls with a 188 game and 361 series.
