Xavier - Boys Soccer

No. 4 Saints boot Cedar Falls, 6-0

Luke Duball collected two goals and two assists Friday as the fourth-ranked Xavier boys soccer team blanked Cedar Falls, 6-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference match at Heco Field.

Thomas Bean, Justin Schneider, Davis Wagner and Jon Jacobi also scored for the Saints. Bean, Schneider and Shane Scott had assists.

Owen McCarron and Nolan Dostal shared time in goal for the shutout.

Xavier raised its record to 8-4. Cedar Falls fell to 6-8.

Xavier boys soccer topped by Cougars

Joachim Kikuni scored two goals in the second half Tuesday night as  the Kennedy boys soccer team blanked Xavier, 2-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference match at Kennedy.

Xavier, which is ranked No. 4 in Class 2A, fell to 7-4 for the campaign.

Kennedy, which is ranked No. 13 in Class 3A, raised its record to 7-3.

No. 5 Saints kick Dubuque Senior

DUBUQUE - The fifth-ranked Xavier Saints exploded for seven goals in  the second half Thursday and dumped Dubuque Senior, 10-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys soccer match in Dubuque.

Thomas Bean led the Saints with three goals and Justin Schneider  tallied twice in the match. Nick Koechner, Luke Duball, Shane Scott, Tyler Steffensmeier and Davis Wagner also scored for Xavier.

Duball collected four assists and Wagner had two assists. Koechner, Connor Stevenson, Matt Been and Brennan Lloyd had one assist.

Quinn Miller and Nolan Dostal shared time in goal as the Saints raised their record to 7-3.

Xavier - Boys Soccer

Duball, Bean help Saints boot Jeff

Luke Duball and Thomas Bean scored two goals Tuesday as the  fifth-ranked Xavier Saints kicked Jefferson, 7-3, in a Mississippi  Valley Conference match at Heco Field.

Duball collected three assists and Bean had two assists as the Saints  raised their record to 6-3.

Jefferson pulled within 3-2 in the second half, but Xavier responded  with four straight goals to secure the victory.

Maliki Wilson, Jon Jacobi and Ty Corrigan also scored for the Saints.  Matthew Been and Carter Ives had assists.

No. 3 Xavier boys edged by Wahlert

DUBUQUE - The third-ranked Xavier boys soccer team lost to Dubuque  Wahlert, 2-1, in a PK shootout Thursday night in Dubuque.

Luke Duball tied the match for Xavier, 1-1, on an assist from Davis Wagner with about 10 minutes left in the second half.

Neither team scored in overtime or double-overtime.

Wahlert won the PK shootout, 4-3, leaving the Saints with a 5-3 record for the season and their second setback in a shootout.
