Cedar Valley Christian - Boys Soccer

Huskies blank Prince of Peace, 3-0

Tom Scroggs' goal in the 33rd minute broke a scoreless tie and sent Cedar Valley Christian past Prince of Peace, 3-0, Tuesday at Tuma.

Scroggs scored on a header off a pass from Luke Zasadny. The Huskies also got an own goal from Prince of Peace, and Arturo Melendez capped the scoring with a goal.

Joseph Zasadny had two saves in goal for the shutout.

 

 

Cedar Valley Christian - Boys Soccer

Huskies tumble at Albia

ALBIA - The Cedar Valley boys soccer team tumbled to a 5-1 loss Tuesday at Albia.

Albia built a 3-0 lead by halftime and stretched it to 5-0 in the 56th minute.

Luke Zasadny scored the Huskies' goal off an assist fro Arturo Melendez in the 72nd minute.

Landis' goal lifts Huskies past Vikings, 1-0

VINTON - Jon Landis' goal in the 75th minute propelled Cedar Valley past Vinton-Shellburg, 1-0, Monday in a boys soccer game.

Landis scored his goal on a shot off a dead ball from 40 yards.

Cedar Valley only put four shots on goal in the game.

Huskies keeper Joseph Zasadny had 13 saves.

Huskies split at IMS tourney

KALONA - Cedar Valley split a pair of games Saturday in the IMS Invitational boys soccer tournament.

The Huskies lost their first game, 7-0, to Fairfield. The score was 2-0 at halftime before Fairfield broke it open in the second half.

Cedar Valley came back to claim a 4-0 win over Fort Madison. John Zasadny had two assists and one goal. Samantha Smith, Luke Zasadny and Danny Mafuta also scored goals for the Huskies.

 

Cedar Valley Christian - Boys Soccer

Huskies drubbed by Mid-Prairie, 6-1

Andrew Bates scored three goals and Mid-Prairie overpowered Cedar Valley Christian, 6-1, Thursday in boys soccer at Tuma.

Mid-Prairie held a 3-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Dustin Yoder and a pair of goals by Bates.

The Huskies cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 32nd minute on a goal by Luke Zasadny, off an assist from brother John Zasadny.

Bates, Austin Errthum and Jordan Ulin scored second-half goals for Mid-Prairie.

Joseph Zasadny had nine saves while in goal for Cedar Valley.
