Cedar Valley Christian - Boys Soccer

Huskies tripped late by Marquette, 2-1

Bellevue Marquette scored a pair of second-half goals and beat Cedar Valley Christian, 2-1, Monday in boys soccer at Tuma.

The Huskies' Danielo Mafuta scored a goal in the 18th minute that gave Cedar Valley a 1-0 lead it held until the 64th minute, when Marquette scored a tying goal.

Marquette scored its game-winner in the 72nd minute.

Cedar Valley goalie Joseph Zasadny had seven saves.

Cedar Valley tops Scattergood, 2-1

WEST BRANCH - Cedar Valley Christian scored a pair of second-half goals and beat Scattergood Friends, 2-1, Friday in boys soccer.

The game was switched to West Branch because Cedar Valley's home field at the Tuma soccer complex was unplayable.

The score was tied, 0-0, at halftime.

Huskies whitewashed by Gladbrook-Reinbeck

Joseph Zasadny stopped 10 Gladbrook-Reinbeck shots on goal Tuesday, but the Cedar Valley keeper couldn't stop them all.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck scored three goals and blanked the Huskies, 3-0, at Tuma.

 

   

Cedar Valley Christian - Boys Soccer

Cedar Valley trims Marquette, 4-3

Luke Zasadny scored two goals Monday as the Cedar Valley Christian soccer team defeated Bellevue Marquette, 4-3.

John Zasadny and Danielo Mafuta also scored for the Huskies. Jon Landis, John Zasadny and Arturo Melendez collected assists.

Joseph Zasadny made 11 saves for Cedar Valley.

Cedar Valley nips Scattergood in soccer

WEST BRANCH - Luke Zasadny scored from six yards away in the 66th minute Thursday as the Cedar Valley Christian soccer team blanked the Scattergood Friends School, 1-0, in West Branch.

Zasadny scored on a drop-pass form Danielo Mafuta.

Joseph Zasadny had seven saves for the shutout for the Huskies (2-1).
