Coe men bopped by Dubuque

DUBUQUE - Lucas Ware led five Dubuque players in double figures Saturday as the Spartans dumped Coe, 87-66, in an Iowa Conference game in Dubuque.

Jake Timm poured in 23 points for the Kohawks and JT Vonderhaar had 15.

Dubuque and Coe are tied for second place in the conference with 7-3 league records. Buena Vista stands in first place at 8-2.

Coe is 13-8 overall and Dubuque is 17-4 overall.

Knights drop Coe from IIAC lead

WAVERLY - Jordan Cannon scored 18 points to lead four Wartburg players in double figures as the Knights upset Coe, 86-70, in an Iowa Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at Buzz Levick Arena.

Wartburg (5-4, 12-8 IIAC) led 37-28 at halftime and maintained the advantage throughout the second half. The Knights were 23-of-24 from the foul line. Nate Woeste and Clay Cook each had 16 points while Nick Webber finished with 14. Wartburg outrebounded the Kohawks, 41-29. Cook had 12 caroms, Webber 11.

JT Vonderhaar led Coe (13-7, 7-2) with 15 points. Mike Vonderhaar and Jacob Timm added 13 each. The loss dropped Coe one game behind Buena Vista in the IIAC standings.

Fahey’s 19 lead Coe men over Luther

Christian Fahey scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Coe College men’s basketball team to a 67-60 win over Luther on Saturday and remain unbeaten at Eby Fieldhouse in Iowa Conference play.

Matt Vonderhaar scored 13 points and J.T. Vonderhaar added 12 as the Kohawks improved to 13-6 overall and 7-1 in the league. Coe is tied for first place in the Iowa Conference with Buena Vista.

Jake Martin led the Norse (6-13, 2-6) with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Coe - Men's Basketball

Kohawks hold off Dubuque, 69-63

Matt Vonderhaar and Matt Daoust each scored 13 points to lead a balanced attack as Coe held on to a share of the Iowa Conference lead with a 69-63 win over Dubuque on Wednesday night at Eby Fieldhouse.

Coe (12-6, 6-1) got a double-double from Jacob Timm (12 points, 10 rebounds). JT Vonderhaar also grabbed 12 boards.

The Kohawks, who trailed 30-26 at the break, won the game from the foul line, hitting 27-of-37 compared to 11-of-17 for the Spartans.

Coe - Men's Basketball

Coe men top Central 80-73 in OT

PELLA – The Coe College men’s basketball team opened the overtime period with a 6-0 run with key baskets by Christian Fahey and JT Vonderhaar and held on to beat Central College 80-73 Saturday in an Iowa Conference game at Kuyper Gym.

Vonderhaar finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds for the Kohawks (11-6, 5-1). Jacob Timm had 20 points and nine rebounds. Fahey finished with 10 points.

Colby Taylor led Central College (9-8, 2-4) with 22 points.
