Coe men booted in league tourney

DECORAH - The Coe men's soccer team lost to Luther, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the Iowa Conference tournament Saturday in Decorah.

The Kohawks finished the season with a 6-13-1 record.

Luther led, 1-0, at halftime and pulled away in the second half with three more goals. Kyle McNeese, Josh Parris, Nigel Nielsen and Josh Galvin connected for the winners.

Coe men blank Central in soccer

Jake Mills scored in the 18th minute Tuesday and the Coe men's soccer team blanked Central, 1-0, in an Iowa Conference match at Clark Field.

Mills connected from about 10 yards into the bottom left corner of the goal. Eric Hoar, Coe's goalkeeper, was credited with an assist on the play. Ryan Oppegard also got an assist.

Hoar made five saves for the shutout.

Coe raised its records to 6-11-1 overall and 2-5 in the conference. Central fell to 4-13 overall and 1-6 in the league.

Coe men kicked by Dubuque

The University of Dubuque scored three times in the first half Saturday and blanked Coe, 3-0, in a men's soccer match at Clark Field.

Gonzalo Hernandez Cascante, Dani Morillo and Skylar Showalter collected goals for the Saints.

Coe fell to 5-11-1 overall and 1-5 in the Iowa Conference. Dubuque raised its records to 11-4-1 overall and 5-1 in the league.

Hoar sets Coe record for saves

MOUNT VERNON - Eric Hoar set a school record for career saves Wednesday as Coe blanked Cornell, 1-0, in a men's soccer match in Mount Vernon.

Hoar made six saves, giving him 312 in his career with the Kohawks.

Keegan McIntosh scored in the 17th minute for Coe with an assist from Ryan Oppegard. It was McIntosh's third goal of the season.

The Kohawks raised their record to 5-10-1. The Rams fell to 3-13.

Kohawk men blanked by Simpson

INDIANOLA – Simpson shut out the Coe men’s soccer team Friday, 3-0, in an Iowa Conference match in Indianola.

The Storm had 11 shots on goal compared to just three for the Kohawks. Garrett Pochop scored a first-half goal for Simpson, and Darius Doswell and Collin Hemann scored in the second half.

Goalie Eric Hoar had eight saves for Coe.

Coe fell to 4-10-1 overall and 1-4 in the IIAC. Simpson is 7-8-2 and 2-2-1.
