Coe women's soccer now 4-0

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Miranda Anderson had a goal and an assist and goalies Kaitlyn Gordley and Katelyn Laraia combined for a shutout as Coe downed Rockford, 3-0, on Sunday at Sam Greeley Field.

Katie Sandecki and Heather Ruiz also scored for Coe (4-0). Gabby Lancial and Jocey Gilbert had assists for the Kohawks.

The Coe keepers combined for five saves. Rockford is 0-3.

Fauser sparks Coe women's soccer

GALESBURG, Ill. - Kelsey Fauser scored two goals in the second half Friday to help the Coe women's soccer team trim Knox College, 2-1, in Galesburg, Ill.

Fauser gave the Kohawks a 1-0 lead in the 74th minute on a penalty kick. She struck again just 36 seconds later with an unassisted goal from the deep left wing for a 2-0 advantage.

Kayla Brown converted a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to pull Knox within 2-1, but Coe kept the home team off the scoreboard for the rest of the match.

MJ Winterer made 10 saves for the Kohawks, who raised their record to 2-0.

Moos sparks Kohawks by Clarke

DUBUQUE - Ashlyn Moos scored two goals Tuesday as the Coe women's soccer team opened its season with a 3-1 victory over Clarke University in Dubuque.

Kelsey Fauser also found the net for the Kohawks and Shalyn Kinney had two assists.

MJ Winterer made eight saves in goal for Coe.

4 Coe soccer players honored

Four members of the Coe women's soccer team have been honored by the Iowa Conference.

Jordan Holmes and Sarah Fathallah have been named first team all-conference. Kelsey Fauser was named to the second team and Katilyn Yanecek received honorable mention.

Holmes is from Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Fathallah from Linn-Mar and Yanecek from Cedar Rapids Prairie.

Coe - Women's Soccer

Coe women booted by Wartburg

Madison Astgen scored in the 43rd minute to snap a scoreless tie as Wartburg tipped Coe, 1-0, at the Iowa Conference women's soccer tournament Saturday.

MJ Winterer made 14 saves for the Kohawks.

Coe ended the season with a 9-10 record.
