No.20 Coe women tied by Dubuque

The 20th-ranked Coe women's soccer team had to settle for a 2-2 tie with the University of Dubuque in double-overtime Saturday at Clark Field.

Both teams scored in the first half and both teams scored in the second half, but neither club could find the goal in the extra sessions.

Hannah Torry gave the Kohawks a 1-0 lead with an assist from Kelsey Fauser. Fauser made it 2-1 in the second half with an assist from Jordan Holmes, but Dubuque scored three minutes later and that's the way it stayed.

Emily Meeker and Brianna Burkart scored for Dubuque.

Coe fell to 14-1-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the Iowa Conference. Dubuque raised its records to 10-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the league.

Coe women's soccer ranked for 1st time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the first time in school history, the Coe College women's soccer team is ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of American Top 25 Poll.

Coe enters the poll for the first time at 20th, the highest any Iowa Conference women's soccer team has been ranked this season.

Along with the first national ranking in school history, the Kohawks are the top-ranked team in the NSCAA North Regional Poll. Coe is one of three teams from the Iowa Conference ranked in the regional poll as Luther is fifth and Wartburg sixth.

Fathallah, Winterer honored by IIAC

Sarah Fathallah and MJ Winterer from the Coe women's soccer team have been honored by the Iowa Conference.

Fathallah, a Linn-Mar grad, has been named the Iowa Conference Female Athlete of the Week. She scored goals in both of Coe's victories last week over Loras (3-1) and Simpson (2-1) and had the game-winning goal in both contests.

Winterer was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week in soccer. She made 10 saves in the two wins.

The Kohawks have a 4-1 conference record and are tied with Luther and Wartburg for first place in the conference with two games left to play.

Coe women boot Simpson for 14th win

INDIANOLA – The Coe women’s soccer team improved to 14-1-1 with a 2-1 win over Simpson on Friday.

The match remained scoreless through the first 65 minutes.

Simpson’s Mackenzie Stump broke the scoreless tie in the 66th minute, but the Kohawks answered with two quick goals. Keira Frederito scored off an assist by Kelsey Fauser in the 72nd minute, and Sarah Fathallah scored off an assist from Ashlyn Moos in the 79th minute.

Goalie MJ Winterer had eight saves for Coe as the Kohawks out-shot the Storm 12-9.

Coe is 4-1 in the IIAC. Simpson fell to 3-12 overall and 0-5 in the league.

Coe women rally to kick Loras

DUBUQUE - After falling behind in the first five minutes, Coe scored the final three goals to down Loras, 3-1, in an Iowa Conference women's soccer match Wednesday night at the Rock Bowl.

Brenna Winn scored an unassisted goal just before the half to tie the game.

Coe took the lead in the 83rd minute when Sarah Fathallah scored off a feed fron Gabby Lancial. Ashlyn Moos netted an insurance goal in the 87th minute.

MJ Winterer had six saves for the Kohawks (13-1-1 overall, 3-1 IIAC).

Loras, which got a goal from Katie Truesdale, is 6-5-2, 1-2-1.
