Bundy, Fitzgerald lead Coe swimmers

DUBUQUE - Kendall Bundy and Sam Fitzgerald were triple-winners for the Coe women's swimming team Friday in a tight 112-107 loss to Loras in an Iowa Conference meet in Dubuque.

Bundy captured the 50 freestyle (27.16) and 100 backstroke (1:03.00). Fitzgerald claimed the 100 butterfly (1:04.21) and 100 breaststroke (1:10.66). They also swam on the triumphant 200 medley relay with Kenni Sterns and Katy Appler.

Jasmine Deng won the diving for Coe.

The Coe men lost their meet to Loras, 151-50. The Kohawks did not win any events.

Ruffles replaces Jennings with Coe swimming

Coe College Director of Athletics John Chandler announced the resignation of Kohawk swimming and diving head coach Justin Jennings Wednesday.

Assistant coach Brian Ruffles has been named the new head coach of the program.

Jennings departs to take a position as assistant coach at NCAA Division I Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. Ruffles has spent the last six years as an assistant to Jennings at Coe.

“It was a very tough decision to leave Coe College. There are so many great things happening here that will continue to make Coe one of the best colleges in the country," Jennings said.

Coe - Women's Swimming

Coe women take 6th at swim meet

ELSAH, Ill. - The Coe College women's swimming team finished sixth out of 12 teams at the Liberal Arts Championships Saturday.

Lindsay Meade, Kenni Sterns, Katy Appler and Andi Queisner placed fifth in the 400 freestyle for Coe on the final day of the three-day meet.

The Coe men's team finished eighth out of 10 teams. Daniel Bradley placed sixth in the 3-meter diving competition Saturday.

Coe swimmers grab pair of 5ths

ELSAH, Ill. - The Coe College swim teams placed fifth in two events at the Liberal Arts Championships Friday.

Kendallyn Recker finished fifth in the 1-meter diving for the women's team. Andy Cheng, Tucker Dangremond, Tim Bosn and Logan Barnes placed fifth in the 800 freestyle relay for the men's team.

Lindsay Meade placed sixth in the 200 freestyle. Kenni Sterns, Katy Appler, Meade and Andi Queisler finished sixth in the 800 freestyle relay.

Barnes, Dangremond, Cheng and Matthew Thoma were sixth in the 200 medley relay.

Coe swimmers place 5th in 3 events

ELSAH, Ill. - The Coe College swimming and diving team collected three fifth-place showings on the first day of the Liberal Arts Championships Thursday.

Andi Queisner placed fifth in the 50 freestyle, Kendallyn Recker finished fifth in women's 3-meter diving and Daniel Bradley was fifth in men's 3-meter diving.

The Kohawks placed sixth in the women's 200 freestyle relay with Laura Finneseth, Katy Appler, Lindsay Meade and Quiesner.
