Franklin wins triple jump for Coe

CEDAR FALLS - Kirstin Franklin of Coe won the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet, 5.25 inches in the college division at the Jack Jennett Invitational track meet Saturday at the UNI-Dome.

Laura Bybee placed third in the pole vault for the Kohawks at 9 feet, 10 inches.

The Coe men's track team collected three runnerup finishes with Shea Devine in the mile (4:31.61), Erik Franklin in the triple jump (43 feet, 1/2 inch) and Alex Deeds in the shot put (48-3 1/4).

Drahn places 2nd in long jump for Coe

CEDAR FALLS - Kenzie Drahn of Coe College finished second in the long jump Friday at the Jack Jennett Invitational in Cedar Falls with a leap of 15 feet, 11.75 inches.

The second day of the meet will be held on Saturday.

 

Coe - Women's Track

Coe wins 3 events at Cornell track

MOUNT VERNON - Laura Bybee captured the pole vault for the Coe College women's track team Saturday by leaping 10 feet at the Cornell Invitational.

Erik Franklin won the triple jump for the Coe men's track team with a combined leap of 39 feet, 10.75 inches.

The Kohawks claimed the women's 4x200 relay with Amanda Brummet, Emma Gitomer, Kenzie Drahn and Sara Bechard sharing the baton.

Bechard placed second in the high jump and Kirstin Franklin was second in the triple jump. The Kohawk women picked up third-place finishes from Brummet (60 dash), Franklin (400 dash), Beth Heims (mile) and Ashley Nemechek (60 hurdles).

Coe - Women's Track

Bechard, Franklin win titles for Coe

DUBUQUE - Sara Bechard and Eric Franklin won titles for Coe at the Sol Butler indoor track meet in Dubuque Saturday.

Bechard won the 200 meter dash and Franklin captured the triple jump.

Bechard and Kenzie Drahn gave the Kohawks a 1-2 finish in the 200. Drahn also finished second in the long jump and Bechard placed fourth in the high jump.
