Coe's Harbaugh honored by AVCA

Coe senior Makenzie Harbaugh has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Harbaugh finished her career with 1,285 assists, which ranks fifth in school history. She was named a third team All-American by the AVCA last season.

The Kohawks finished with a 23-13 record and tied for third in the Iowa Conference.

Coe's Harbaugh, Smith honored by AVCA

Coe volleyball players Mackenzie Harbaugh and Brianna Smith have been named to the All-Central Region team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Harbaugh was named first team all-region for the second straight year. She joins Shayla Chalker (2007-2008) as the only two-time first team selections in school history.

Smith received honorable mention on the all-region team.

Coe finished the season with a 23-13 record.

3 Kohawks honored in volleyball

Mackenzie Harbaugh, Brianna Smith and Olivia Leisinger of Coe have been selected to the 2015 Iowa Conference all-star volleyball squad.

Harbaugh was named to the all-conference team for the third straight year.

Harbaugh and Smith were named to the 15-player first team. Leisinger received honorable mention.

The Kohawks reached the semifinals of the Iowa Conference tournament before falling to Wartburg Thursday night.

Coe volleyball falls in semifinals

WAVERLY - The Coe women's volleyball team lost to Wartburg, 25-18, 28-26, 25-21, in the semifinals of the Iowa Conference tournament Thursday night in Waverly.

Brianna Smith and Lauren Himan led the Kohawks with seven kills. Lindsey Koch and Olivia Leisinger had six kills.

Mackenzie Harbaugh collected 30 assists for Coe. Madi Miller had 17 digs.

Coe finished the season with a 23-13 record.

 

Coe - Volleyball

Coe spikes Luther in IIAC tourney

The Coe women's volleyball team swept Luther, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20, in the quarterfinals of the Iowa Conference tournament Tuesday night at Eby Fieldhouse.

The Kohawks (23-12) will play at Wartburg in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Brianna Smith led a balanced attack for Coe with 11 kills. Olivia Leisinger had eight kills, Mackenzie Harbaugh seven, Lauren Himan six, Lindsey Koch five and Jaimee Rindy four.

Harbaugh collected 31 assists. Ali Arns led the Kohawks with 16 digs, Harbaugh had 13 and Smith 11. Rindy blocked four shots.

Luther finished with a 20-13 record.
