Mount Mercy - Women's Basketball

Mustangs falter in second half

MARSHALL, Mo. - The Mount Mercy women's basketball team enjoyed an eight-point lead at halftime Wednesday night, but the second half was an entirely different story.

Missouri Valley pounded the Mustangs 30-6 in the third quarter and collected an 83-62 victory in a Heart of America Conference game.

Mount Mercy led 33-25 at intermission, but Missouri Valley dominated the second half 58-29 for the 21-point verdict.

Audrey Mulumba led the Mustangs with 16 points and six rebounds. Aaliyah Brown contributed 14 points. Sara Blowers had 12 points. Sharice Kawakami dished out six assists.

Mount Mercy - Women's Basketball

Mustang women fall to 1-17

The Mount Mercy women's basketball team lost to Baker, 73-57, in a Heart of America Conference game at the Hennessey Recreation Center Saturday.

The Mustangs fell to 5-19 overall and 1-17 in the conference.

Aaliyah Brown led Mount Mercy with 21 points and seven rebounds. Audrey Mulumba scored 11 points. Sharice Kawakami had nine points and six assists.

Caitlin Modesett scored 22 points and Jessica Zweifel had 21 for Baker (15-10, 10-9). Modesett made six 3-pointers.

BAKER (73): Bannister 2 0-0 4, Bird 2 4-4 8, Smith 1 2-2 5, Modesett 6 4-8 21, Zweifel 6 8-11 21, Weathers 1 0-0 3, Griffin 1 1-4 3, Roberts-Rosser 1 2-2 4, Karolina-Alvarado 1 0-0 3. Totals 21 21-31 73.

Mustang women fall at Graceland

LAMONI - The Mount Mercy women's basketball team lost to Graceland, 68-49, in a Heart of America Conference game in Lamoni Thursday night.

The Mustangs fell to 5-18 overall and 1-16 in the league. Graceland raised its records to 13-10 overall and 7-10 in the conference.

Aaliyah Brown and Aurianna Hampton scored 11 points apiece for Mount Mercy. Caitlin Sudduth had 14 points for Graceland.

Mount Mercy - Women's Basketball

No. 4 Nazarene rolls by Mustangs

A long season for the Mount Mercy women's basketball team got a little  longer Saturday afternoon.

The Mustangs lost to fourth-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene, 81-48, in a  Heart of America Conference game at the Hennessey Recreation Center.

Mount Mercy shot only 21.7 perfect from the field (15 of 69). The  Mustangs fell to 5-17 overall and 1-15 in the conference.

MidAmerica Nazarene built a 41-point lead in the fourth quarter. The  Pioneers raised their records to 18-3 overall and 15-2 in the  conference.

Aaliyah Brown scored 10 points for Mount Mercy. Audrey Mulumba had  eight points and 12 rebounds.

Mount Mercy - Women's Basketball

Mount Mercy women fall to 1-14

CANTON, Mo. - The Mount Mercy women's basketball team returned to full  strength Thursday night, but it wasn't good enough to prevent the  Mustangs from falling to 1-and-14 in conference games this season.

Mount Mercy lost to Culver-Stockton, 81-69, in a Heart of America  contest in Missouri.

Sharice Kawakami, who missed three games due to concussion protocol,  returned to action and scored 19 points in 32 minutes off the bench.  She made 5 of 7 3-pointers.

Brianna Thomas, who missed six games while serving a suspension, also  returned and had six points in 16 minutes off the bench for Mount Mercy.
