Mosbach sets Mustang record at NAIA race

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Liz Mosbach of Mount Mercy set a school record at the NAIA national cross country meet in Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday.

Mosbach covered the 5K course in 18 minutes, 49.6 seconds and finished 69th overall.

The Mount Mercy women placed 30th out of 35 teams in the standings. Northwest Christian won the title. Kellian Hunt of Biola was the medalist in 17:16.7.

Evan Bowman led the Mount Mercy men's team in 123th place. He ran the 8K race in 26 minutes, 38.8 seconds. The Mustangs finished 34th out of 36 teams.

Oklahoma City captured the men's title. Geoffrey Kipchumba of William Carey took medalist honors in 23:55.0.

MOUNT MERCY WOMEN: 69. Liz Mosbach 18:49.6, 204. Molly Pruett 19:46.9, 209. Dana Ewen 19:51.0, 223. Katie Hoffert 19:59.7, 231. Lindsay Brunson 20:03.5.

MOUNT MERCY MEN: 123. Evan Bowman 26:38.8, 131. James Lindstrom 26:44.7, 194. Colton Forster 27:30.0, 221. Michael Marshall 28:01.9, 241. Nigel Christianson 29:29.1.

Bowman races 2nd at Heart of America

OSKALOOSA - Evan Bowman of Mount Mercy University finished a tight second at the Heart of America Conference cross country meet Saturday at the Lacey Recreation Complex in Oskaloosa.

Christopher Buhler of Benedictine beat Bowman by 1.1 seconds, clocking a winning time of 26 minutes, 32.0 seconds. Bowman finished a few steps behind Buhler in 26:33.1.

This was the first competition in any Heart of America event for Mount Mercy since the Mustangs joined the league this year.

Benedictine captured the men's and women's team championships. Mount Mercy placed second in both races, earning automatic berths for its men's and women's teams at the NAIA national meet Nov. 21 in Charlotte, N.C.

Colton Forster of Mount Mercy finished fourth in the men's race. Lindsay Brunson led the Mount Mercy women in 12th place.

Mount Mercy - Women's Cross Country

Mount Mercy women run 4th at Stampede

The Mount Mercy women's cross country team finished fourth out of 20 squads at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede Saturday at Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids.

The Mount Mercy men placed seventh out of 21 teams in their race.

The University of St. Francis won the women's race. The University of Saint Mary captured the men's competition.

Ellie Willging of St. Xavier University won the women's 5K race in 17 minutes, 59 seconds. Daniel Garcia of Cardinal Stritch University claimed the men's 8K title in 25 minutes.

Liz Mosbach led Mount Mercy in the women's race in 20th place. Evan Bowman paced the Mount Mercy men in 15th place.

The meet was hosted by Mount Mercy and the Cedar Rapids Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Mount Mercy - Women's Cross Country

Mosbach leads Mount Mercy to title

DAVENPORT - Liz Mosbach of Mount Mercy captured top honors at the Saint Ambrose Invitational cross country meet Saturday and led the Mustangs to the team championship.

Mosbach finished in 19 minutes, 24 seconds for a 24-second victory.

Evan Bowman of Mount Mercy placed second in the men's race to help the Mustangs finish fourth in their team standings. He finished 13 seconds behind the winner in 26:06.

Katie Hoffert placed third for the Mount Mercy women and Dana Ewan was eighth. Colton Forster finished sixth for the Mount Mercy men and James Lindstrom was ninth.

Mount Mercy - Women's Cross Country

Conroy, Bowman win races at 5th Seasons Dual

PALO - Lucy Conroy of Coe and Evan Bowman of Mount Mercy were the individual winners at the Fifth Seasons Dual cross country meet at Morgan Creek Park in Palo Saturday.

Conroy, a freshman, covered the women's three-mile race in 18 minutes,46.2 seconds. Bowman, a junior, captured the men's four-mile race in 21 minutes, 46.7 seconds.

Mount Mercy won the women's title and Coe took the men's title in the two-school meet.
