Mount Mercy women win 4x800 relay

DUBUQUE - The Mount Mercy women's track team captured the 4x800 relay at the Sol Butler Classic Saturday in Dubuque.

Melissa Armendariz, Jazmine Reynolds, Allison Scott and Kathryn Vander Poel won the race in 10 minutes, 5.23 seconds.

The Mount Mercy women got second-place showings from Bri'anna Branch in the 55 meter dash and the 4x200 relay.

Laura Bybee of Coe placed third in the pole vault.

Chris Hawkins of Coe finished second in the men's long jump and placed third in the 55 hurdles. Beau Freeborn finished second in the 600 for the  Kohawks and Ben Nelson was third in the 600.

Mount Mercy - Men's Track

Mosbach, Bowman win titles for Mustangs

DES MOINES - Liz Mosbach and Evan Bowman of Mount Mercy won titles at the Midwest Collegiate Conference track meet in Des Moines Friday.

Mosbach captured the long jump at 18 feet, 3 inches and Bowman claimed the 10,000 meter run in 34 minutes, 4.52 seconds. Mosbach also ran on the triumphant 4x800 relay.

The meet will finish Saturday.

Mount Mercy - Men's Track

Sanborn, Flexsenhar win titles for Mustangs

PELLA - Nicole Sanborn and Suzanne Flexsenhar of Mount Mercy won titles at the Central College Track Invitational in Pella Thursday.

Sanborn claimed the long jump at 5.24 meters and Flexsenhar captured the javelin with a throw of 33.96 meters.

The Mount Mercy women's track team had second-place finishes from Jade Gridiron in the 100 (12.75), the 4x100 relay (50.12) and the 4x400 relay (4:09.12). The Mustangs had third-place showings from Aminah Baloch in the 100 (12.94), Dana Ewan in the 5000 (19:35.35), Liz Mosbach in the long jump (5.16 meters) and Mosbach in the triple jump (10.58 meters).

Mount Mercy - Men's Track

Mosbach wins 2 titles for Mount Mercy

STERLING, Ill. – Liz Mosbach won two events to lead the Mount Mercy women’s track team at the Midwest Collegiate Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Westwood Sports Center.

The Mount Mercy women finished fourth with 111 points and the men were fifth with 33.

Mosbach won the 600 meters in 1 minute, 38.50 seconds and won the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 4 inches for the Mustangs. She also placed second in the triple jump at 35-3, was third in the 400 in 59.75 and was fourth in the 800 in 2:24.03.

Lindsay Brunson was second in the mile in 5:28.85 for the Mount Mercy women, Nichole Sanborn was third in the long jump at 16-9.75, and Danielle Schroeder was third in the high jump at 4-11.75.

Mount Mercy - Men's Track

Mount Mercy women win track meet

STORM LAKE - The Mount Mercy women's track team won the championship at the Dennis Young Classic in Storm Lake Saturday.

The Mustangs nipped Northwestern (Iowa) for the title, 133-131.

Liz Mosbach was a double-winner for Mount Mercy in the 800 meter run (2:21.17) and long jump (18-0 1/2). Rachel Jellings claimed the 60 meter hurdles (9.83) and Kayla Hanson won the weight throw (49-8 1/4).

The Mustangs got second-place finishes from Kennidee Devilbiss in the 600 (1:50.31), Danielle Schroeder in the high jump (4-11 1/2), Nicole Sanborn in the long jump (17-3 1/4) and the 4x800 relay.

Mount Mercy received third-place showings from Sha'Rhonda Clark in the 200 (27.43), Capria Davis in the 400 (1:03.06) and Melissa Armendariz in the 600 (1:50.31).

The Mount Mercy men finished 11th out of 12 teams. The Mustangs did not have any top-3 finishes.
