Mount Mercy - Women's Track

Mount Mercy women win 4x800 relay

DUBUQUE - The Mount Mercy women's track team captured the 4x800 relay at the Sol Butler Classic Saturday in Dubuque.

Melissa Armendariz, Jazmine Reynolds, Allison Scott and Kathryn Vander Poel won the race in 10 minutes, 5.23 seconds.

The Mount Mercy women got second-place showings from Bri'anna Branch in the 55 meter dash and the 4x200 relay.

Laura Bybee of Coe placed third in the pole vault.

Chris Hawkins of Coe finished second in the men's long jump and placed third in the 55 hurdles. Beau Freeborn finished second in the 600 for the  Kohawks and Ben Nelson was third in the 600.

Mount Mercy - Women's Track

Mosbach wins triple jump for Mustangs

DES MOINES - Liz Mosbach of Mount Mercy captured the triple jump at the Midwest Collegiate Conference track meet Saturday in Des Moines at 36 feet, 2 3/4 inches.

The Mustangs won the 4x100 relay in 49.51 seconds.

The Mount Mercy women finished third in the team standings. The Mount Mercy men finished in last place in the six-team meet.

WOMEN'S STANDINGS

1. St. Ambrose 253, 2. Grand View 193, 3. Mount Mercy 171, 4. Clarke 135.5, 5. William Penn 55.5, 6. Viterbo 37.

MEN'S STANDINGS

1. St. Ambrose 253, 2. Grand View 217, 3. William Penn 167, 4. Clarke 86, 5. Viterbo 71, 6. Mount Mercy 50.

 

 

Mount Mercy - Women's Track

Mosbach, Bowman win titles for Mustangs

DES MOINES - Liz Mosbach and Evan Bowman of Mount Mercy won titles at the Midwest Collegiate Conference track meet in Des Moines Friday.

Mosbach captured the long jump at 18 feet, 3 inches and Bowman claimed the 10,000 meter run in 34 minutes, 4.52 seconds. Mosbach also ran on the triumphant 4x800 relay.

The meet will finish Saturday.

WOMEN'S STANDINGS

1. Grand View 90, 2. St. Ambrose 88, 3. Clarke 71.5, 4. Mount Mercy 59, 5. William Penn 30.5, 6. Viterbo 6.

MEN'S STANDINGS

Mount Mercy - Women's Track

Mosbach wins 2 events at Loras Open

DUBUQUE - Liz Mosbach of Mount Mercy won two events at the Dr. Tucker Loras Open track meet Saturday in Dubuque.

Mosbach captured the 800 in 2:20.39 and claimed the long jump at 17-9 3/4. Jade Gridiron won the 100 meter dash for the Mustangs in 12.66 seconds.

Coe won four events at the meet. Erik Franklin took the 200 (22.12), Beau Freeborn captured the 800 (1:56.32) and Chris Hawkins won the long jump (22-7 1/4) for the Coe men. Melissa Alger took the discus (149-5) for the Coe women.

 

Mount Mercy - Women's Track

Mustangs place 4th at Gourley Open

LIBERTY, Mo. - The Mount Mercy women's track team finished fourth out of 20 teams at the Gourley Open Saturday in Liberty, Mo.

The Mount Mercy men finished 16th out of 19 teams.

The Mustangs got second-place showings from Eveline Niyokwizigigwa in the women's 10,000 meter run (40:53.43), Kayla Hanson in the hammer throw (150-10) and Evan Bowman in the men's 10,000 meter run (34:22.30).

The Mount Mercy women also finished second in the 4x400 relay in 4:04.96 with Sha'Rhonda Clark, Capria Davis, Allison Scott and Liz Mosbach.

The Mustangs had third-place finishes from Mosbach in the 800 (2:18.38), Dana Ewan in the women's 10,000 (41:30.31), Kristi Feldman in the discus (112-0) and Anthony Kinley in the men's 10,000 (35:53.45).

Lincoln (Mo.) won the men's and women's titles.
