Mount Mercy spiked by Clarke

DUBUQUE - The Mount Mercy women's volleyball team was swept by Clarke, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19, in a match Tuesday night in Dubuque.

Cori Peterzalek led the Mustangs with 10 kills. Leslie Hoffmann had eight kills, Becca Thomson seven and Olivia Coe seven.

Abbie Perez collected 18 assists for Mount Mercy and Hannah Whitley had 14.

Lauren Stopko finished with 16 digs, Thomson had 15 and Peterzalek 14. Emma Pisarik had four blocks.

Mount Mercy fell to 20-10 for the season. Clarke raised its record to 19-5.

Hoffmann helps Mustangs spike Waldorf

FOREST CITY – Leslie Hoffmann had 17 kills to lead the Mount Mercy volleyball team to a 3-2 win over Waldorf Friday night.

Mount Mercy prevailed 25-17, 21-25, 25-19, 13-25, 15-12.

Cori Peterzalek had 22 digs, Lauren Stopko had 20 digs, Becca Thompson added 10 digs, and Allie McQuiston had three service aces.

Mount Mercy improved to 20-9, while Waldorf fell to 5-21.

Hoffmann sparks Mount Mercy volleyball

DAVENPORT - Leslie Hoffmann slammed 20 kills Tuesday night as the Mount Mercy volleyball team swept Saint Ambrose, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19, at Lee Lohman Arena in Davenport.

The Mustangs raised their record to 19-9. Saint Ambrose fell to 6-13.

Cori Peterzalek collected nine kills and nine digs for Mount Mercy. Abbie Perez had 17 assists and Hannah Whitley had 15 assists. Lauren Stopko provided 12 digs.

Perez served three aces. Emma Pisarik and Olivia Coe had three blocks.

Mount Mercy volleyball goes 2-2

DUBUQUE - The Mount Mercy volleyball team compiled a 2-2 record Saturday at the Clarke University Tournament in Dubuque.

The Mustangs defeated Mayville State (3-0) and Valley City State (3-1). They lost to Viterbo (3-1) and Bellevue (3-2).

Viterbo and Ashford both went 4-0 Saturday. Viterbo went 12-1 in overall sets and was declared the champion. Ashford was 12-2 in overall sets.

Olivia Coe of Mount Mercy made the all-tournament team.

Mount Mercy splits in volleyball

DUBUQUE – The Mount Mercy volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Clarke Invitational on Friday at the Kehl Center, losing to Viterbo 3-1 and beating Mayville State 3-0.

The Mustangs opened the day with a 25-16, 21-25, 25-9, 25-15 loss to Viterbo. Cori Peterzalek had eight kills and 13 digs, Olivia Coe had seven kills and Abby Perez had 11 assists.

Mount Mercy beat Mayville State, 25-18, 25-16, 27-25. Peterzalek had 17 kills and 16 digs, Leslie Hoffman had 16 kills and three blocks, Coe had 11 kills and two blocks, and Perez had 22 assists.

The Mustangs improved to 17-8.
