J-Hawks top Cougars in girls bowling

Megan Kitzmiller rolled a 358 series Monday to help Jefferson trim Kennedy, 2369-2296, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling meet at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Jamie Milota of Kennedy turned in the best game with a 214 and bowled a 357 series to finish just one pin behind Kitzmiller.

JEFFERSON: Megan Kitzmiller 166+192=358, Madison Rasmussen 146+188=334, Hailey Kimble 169+160=329, Allie Schirmer 146+144=290, Lauren Sheets 120+128=248, Maddie Kisling 99+148=247.

KENNEDY: Jamie Milota 143+214=357, Jill Zaiser 154+164=318, Alyssa Wiedemeier 128+147=275, Abbie Haller 119+126=245, Sam Eltze 107+125=232, Sydney Helms 100+112=212.

Jefferson: 1559 + 810 = 2369.

Schirmer leads Jeff girls in Waterloo

WATERLOO – Waterloo East topped the Jefferson girls bowling team 2,201 pins to 2,038 Friday at Cadillac Lanes.

Allie Schirmer rolled two 163 games for a 326 series to lead the J-Hawks.

JEFFERSON: Allie Schirmer 163-163=326, Hailey Kimble 160-139=299, Megan Kitzmiller 114-159=273, Madison Rasmussen 120-134=254, Maddie Kisling 112-139=251.

WATERLOO EAST: Ashley Cary 171-179=350, Ashlee Snapp 140-171=311, Leah Frost 121-146=267, Alysha Edler 130-121=251, Alissa Claassen 128-111=239, Josie Jacobs 126-107=233.

Jefferson: 1,403-635=2,038.

Prairie girls bump off Jefferson

The Prairie girls bowling team downed Jefferson 2,762 to 2,415 Friday at May City Bowl.

Megan Kitzmiller had a 203 game and 370 series for the J-Hawks. Madison Rasmussen was close behind with a 368 series.

Ashley Sundstrom rolled a 216 game and 404 series for the Prairie Hawks.

Christensen rolls 438 against J-Hawks

Shania Christensen of Washington had the hot hand in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet against Jefferson on Friday at May City Bowl.

Christensen fired a 438 series with games of 235 and 203 for the Warriors, but Jefferson won the meet by a final tally of 2344 to 2128.

Allie Schirmer led Jefferson with a 388 series.

Jefferson girls fall to City High

IOWA CITY - Iowa City High beat Jefferson behind Liz Goss with a 224 game and 384 series and Brooklynn Shaw with the high game of 232 with a 362 series in a Mississippi Valley Conference bowling meet at Colonial Lanes in Iowa City Tuesday.

Madison Rasmussen led Jefferson with a 319 series.
