J-Hawk girls upended by IC West

The Jefferson girls lost a match that was close all the way through to the last baker game when Iowa City West shot a big 252 game to Jeff's 191 and beat the J-Hawks, 2628-2555, Friday at May City.

Abbi Stastny had a 199 game and Savannah Fowler had a 381 series for the J-Hawks.

Bennett leads Jeff girls bowlers

IOWA CITY - Rylea Bennett had the line Friday with a 349 series that paced Jefferson past Iowa City High, 2335-2265, in girls bowling.

The J-Hawks built a 111-pin lead in the first round and withstood a 51-pin advantage for City High in the Baker round.

Bennett fires J-Hawks past Warriors

Rylea Bennett had the line for Jefferson Friday afternoon rolling games of 204 and 234 for a 438 series that carried the J-Hawks past Washington, 2459-2421, in girls bowling at May City.

Savannah Fowler shot a consistent 372 series, with games of 187 and 185, for the J-Hawks.

Keely Pernicka led Washington with a 373 series. She also had high game for the Warriors of 196.

Blood drives Prairie bowlers past Jeff

Rylee Blood had the line for Prairie Friday, rolling a 247 high game and 435 series that led Prairie past Jefferson, 2716-2316, in girls bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Rylea Bennett rolled a 407 series for Jefferson.

Rylea Bennett rolled a 401 series for Cedar Rapids Jefferson Tuesday as
the J-Hawks opened the season with a 2614-2304 loss to Waterloo West at
May City Bowl.

Mckenzie Ruddy of Waterloo West took top honors with a 173-253=426 series.

Jennifer Ranza 175-143=318, Mckenzie Ruddy 173-253=426, Amber Ovel
