Petersen rolls 393 as J-Hawks top Wahlert

DUBUQUE - Nicole Petersen captured top honors with a 393 series Friday as Jefferson defeated Dubuque Wahlert by a score of 2438 to 2212 in a Mississippi Valley Conference bowling meet at Cherry Lanes.

Petersen also had the high game Friday with a 203.

Kristina Hochrein rolled a 196-194--390 series for Wahlert.

Waterloo West had three girls throw 400 series and the Wahawks whipped Jefferson, 2794-2569, Friday in Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling at May City Bowl.

Amber Ovel led the way for West with a 244 high game and 461 series.

Jefferson's Nicole Peterson fired games of 208 and 201 for a 409 series.

The J-Hawks built a 459-pin lead in the first round and cruised to the win.

Nicole Peterson rolled a 204 game and 382 series for Jefferson, and Jessie Alff a 203 and 394.

Lynze Moon led Washington with a 16 high game and 311 series.

Bennett paces J-Hawk bowlers at Waterloo East

WATERLOO - Rylea Bennett rolled a two-game series of 364 Friday to help the Cedar Rapids Jefferson girls bowling team top Waterloo East by a count of 2,255 to 2,150 at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo.

Bennett posted consistent scores of 180-184 to lead all bowlers in the Mississippi Valley Conference meet.
