Jefferson - Girls Bowling

J-Hawks run their record to 5-0

Jefferson recorded its highest score of the season and beat Wahlert, 2795-2423, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at May City Bowl.

The J-Hawks (5-0, 5-0 MVC) were led by senior Nicole Werling with games of 227-196 for a 423 series. Anchor bowler Whitnie Jones added a 200 game and 387 series. Allie Trcka rolled a 204-377.

Wahlert's Kelsey Gregory rolled a pair of 223 games for a 446 series. She raised her conference leading average to 215.4.

Jefferson - Girls Bowling

J-Hawks rally past Waterloo West

WATERLOO — Jefferson rallied from 96 pins down and beat Waterloo West, 2547-2510, Friday afternoon (Dec. 17) in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ bowling meet.

Nicole Petersen’s 199 was high game for the J-Hawks (4-0) and Allie Trcka had high series with a 367.

JEFFERSON (2547): Nicole Werling 142-275, Courtney Moore 161-290, Allie Trcka 192-367, Nicole Petersen 199-361, Whitnie Jones 182-311.

WATERLOO WEST (2510): Mackenzie Allison 178-339, Kayla Shirk 163-323, Candice Newman 173-311, Jordan Newman 182-351, Nicole Nelson 199-376.

First round — West 1700, Jefferson 1604. Baker round — Jefferson 943, West 810.

Jones leads J-Hawks past Warriors

Whitnie Jones rolled a 230 high game and 424 series to lead Jefferson past Washington, 2614-2301, Friday (Dec. 10) in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ bowling match at May City Bowl.

Nicole Petersen rolled a 204-394 also for Jefferson.

Washington was led by Rachel Spencer. She rolled a 207 high game and 339 series.

 WASHINGTON (2301): Cadry Pink 173-276, Olivia LaGrange 174-311, Rachel Spencer 207-339, Keely Pernicka 160-317, Bryttanie Huff 185-319.

JEFFERSON (2614): Nicole Werling 177-338, Jessie Alff 140-265, Anna Striegel 159-306, Nicole Petersen 204-394, Whitnie Jones 230-424.

First round — Jefferson 1727, Washington 1562. Baker round — Jefferson 887, Washington 739.

J-Hawks overwhelm Waterloo East

Senior Nicole Werling rolled high game and series of 201-368 and Jefferon steamrolled Waterloo East, 2690-1959, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ bowling meet Friday (Dec. 3) at May City Bowl.

Jefferson (2-0) had all five of its bowlers roll series in the mid 300s. Whitnie Jones was a close second to Werling with a 190-361.

Jefferson built a 419-pin advantage in the first round, then scored a 934 in the Baker round to overwhelm the Trojans (0-2).

Jefferson - Girls Bowling

J-Hawks' depth too much for Xavier

Senior Nicole Werling’s 227 game and 403 series keyed Jefferson’s victory over Xavier, 2713-2298, in the season opener Tuesday (Nov. 23) at May City Bowl. Junior Whitnie Jones rolled a 382 series for the J-Hawks.

Tara Trcka of Xavier captured top honors with games of 198 and 209 for a two-game series of 407.
