Brannan resigns as Jeff soccer coach

Ash Brannan has resigned as the girls soccer coach at Cedar Rapids Jefferson for personal reasons, according to the Cedar Rapids Community School district website.

The J-Hawks finished with a 5-10 record this season.

No replacement has been named.

Jeff girls soccer game moved to Kingston

The Class 3A regional semifinal girls soccer game between Jefferson and Cedar Falls has been postponed to Friday and the site has been changed to Kingston Stadium.

The game was scheduled for Wednesday at Cedar Falls but was postponed by severe thunderstorms. It was rescheduled for Thursday, but the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union decided to postpone it again and switch the site.

The game will be the nightcap of a doubleheader. Waterloo East and Marshalltown will play in a 3A regional semifinal at 5 p.m. The Jefferson game will follow at approximately 7 p.m.

The winner of the Jefferson-Cedar Falls game will play Linn-Mar in the regional final Monday at Linn-Mar.

Prairie girls boot J-Hawks, 2-0

Hayley Moyle and Aminah Baloch scored goals Friday night as Prairie blanked Jefferson, 2-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls soccer game at Prairie.

Hannah Kousheh and Meleah Baloch collected assists for the Hawks.

Aminah Baloch headed in a corner served by Meleah Baloch.

No.2 Lions blank J-Hawks, 2-0

Jensen Sevening and Kayla Kvach scored goals to lead No.2 Linn-Mar past Jefferson, 2-0, Tuesday in girls soccer at Kingston Stadium.

Maddie Saville and Olivia Garcia had assists for the Lions.

Linn-Mar is 13-2. The Lions close out the regular season at home Thursday at 5:15 p.m. against Bettendorf.

Kinney cracks 5 goals for J-Hawk girls

Shalyn Kinney scored five goals and Brooke Barnhart three to lead Jefferson to a 10-0 pasting of Waterloo West in girls soccer Friday at lower Kingston.

Kayla Jaschen and Katie Dierks also had goals for the J-Hawks.

Kinney, Barnhart, Jaschen and Alexis Brannan had two assists apiece. Sarah Knaub also had an assist.

Jefferson is 5-6.
