LA PORTE CITY -- Union, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A, drubbed Class 3A No. 13 Jefferson, 4-0, Tuesday night in a girls soccer game.
Union is 13-0.
The J-Hawks (6-9) play at Dubuque Senior on Thursday.

Union is 13-0.

WATERLOO -- Freshman Kayla Jaschen scored four goals and Maggie Bruckman had three goals, three assists and three saves to lead Jefferson to a pair of girls soccer wins Saturday.
Jefferson (6-8, 5-6 MVC) beat Cedar Falls, 1-0, in a shootout, then whipped Waterloo East 10-0 in a game that was ended by the mercy rule at halftime.
Bruckman, an Iowa State signee, had three saves in goal during the shootout against Cedar Falls. Jefferson won the game by penalty kicks, 3-1.
Jaschen capped her scoring outburst with a goal from just inside the 18-yard line. The J-Hawks also got goals from Brooke Barnhart, Trina Gallagher and Jenna Owen.
The 11 goals matched Jefferson's total in its first 12 games.
Jefferson - Girls Soccer
WATERLOO -- Jefferson had a huge advantage in shots on goal, but Waterloo West got the only one that counted.
West beat the J-Hawks, 1-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls soccer game.
Jefferson (4-8, 3-6) got off 23 shots to just two for West (5-7, 4-5).
It was the J-Hawks fourth 1-0 loss in their last five games.

Brinkly Werkman scored the only goal of the game and Linn-Mar beat Jefferson, 1-0, Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls soccer game st Linn-Mar Stadium.
Werkman's goal came in the 14th minute of the game and was on a strike from 25 yards out.
Linn-Mar is 6-4 overall, 5-4 in the MVC. Jefferson is 4-7, 3-5.

Kayla Armstrong's goal in the 70th minute broke a 0-0 tie and lifted Xavier past Jefferson, 1-0, Saturday morning in a girls soccer game at lower Kingston.
Armstrong's goal allowed the Saints to push their unbeaten streak to 35 games. That streak was snapped in the afternoon when Washington shocked the Saints, 2-0.
Jefferson bounced back in the afternoon and handed Prairie a 2-1 loss. Trina Gallagher and Kayla Jaschen scored goals for the J-Hawks (4-5, 3-3 MVC).
Prairie lost its second 2-1 decision of the day. The Hawks (2-7, 2-4) were beaten by Washington, 2-1, Saturday morning.
