George (Bert) Goodwin rolled two 243 games for a 486 series to lead the Kennedy boys bowling team to a close 3,038 to 3,004 win over Cedar Falls on Friday at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Brandon Jerome had a 416 series to lead the Tigers (8-4).

The Cougars improved to 6-4-1.

Wahlert bowlers nip Kennedy boys

DUBUQUE – Aaron Smith rolled a 233 game and Nicholas Green had a 409 series as the Kennedy boys bowling team lost to Dubuque Wahlert 2,937 to 2,909 Friday.

Matt Bahl had a 465 series to lead the Golden Eagles (1-10) to their first win of the season.

The Cougars fell to 5-4-1.

Diercks helps No.3 Lions trim Kennedy

Alex Diercks captured top honors Thursday with a 259 game and 456 series as No. 3 Linn-Mar edged Kennedy, 3202-3120, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Sam Crawford rolled a 449 series for Linn-Mar as the Lions raised their record to 9-0. Ryan Wyant was right behind with a 444 for Linn-Mar.

Alex White led Kennedy (5-4-1) with a 440 series. Five of Kennedy's six bowlers enjoyed a 400 series or better.

Cougars edge Trojans on tiebreaker

IOWA CITY - The Kennedy boys bowling team nipped Iowa City West in a rare tiebreaker Friday, 2,975-2,948, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Colonial Lanes.

The match ended in a 2860-2860 deadlock, so they bowled five extra frames to determine a winner. Kennedy won the playoff, 115-88, and took the match.

James Jambois rolled a 468 series for the Cougars with games of 202 and 266. Alec White had a 428 series and Aaron Smith added a 400 for Kennedy (6-2).

Heath Schintler rolled a 427 series for Iowa City West (3-5).
