Prairie surge bakes Cougars

Andrew Galloro had the ball rolling at Lancer Lanes Friday with a 428 series that helped Prairie eke out a 2746-2738 boys bowling win over Kennedy.

Prairie won the game in the final Baker round game. The Hawks rolled a 204 while Kennedy managed a 179, a 25-pin difference that allowed the Hawks to escape.

Prairie held a 32-pin lead after the first round.

Cline, Kaness spark Wash bowlers

Bryan Cline rolled a 460 series and Kyle Kaness had a 438 Thursday as the Washington Warriors topped Kennedy, 2803-2649, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Cline had games of 225 and 235. Kaness turned in the highest game of the day with a 237.

Davis Sutton led Kennedy with a 392 series with games of 189 and 203.

White sparks Kennedy bowlers

Alec White led the Kennedy Cougars to a 2840-2505 victory over Cedar Falls
Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at the Cedar Rapids
Bowling Center.

White grabbed the high series with a 189-211=400. Nicholas Green of
Kennedy submitted the high game with a 215.

Kennedy boys roll over Dubuque Senior

Kyle Custer shot a 235 high game and Alec White a 414 series to lead Kennedy past Dubuque Senior, 2951-2779, in boys bowling Monday at Cedar Rapids Bowl.

Custer finished with a 403 series. Troy McKiernan also had a 403 series. McKiernan and Aaron Smith had high games of 212.

Kennedy held an 87-pin lead after first-round singles. They stretched their margin to 232 pins after three Baker games, mixing in games of 268 and 221.

McKiernan has the line in Kennedy loss

IOWA CITY - Troy McKiernan had the ball rolling Friday afternoon, firing games of 170 and 278 for a 448 series in a losing effort for Kennedy against Iowa City High. The Little Hawks won the boys bowling meet, 2796-2771.

McKiernan helped Kennedy to a 39-pin lead after the first round.

But City High fired four 200 games in the Baker round to rally for the win.
