Washington boys whip Kennedy in tennis

Washington waltzed past Kennedy,, 8-1, Wednesday in boys tennis at Washington.

Ian Schweigert, Reid Rossberger, Oliver Hammond and Barton Kennedy won singles and doubles matches for the Warriors.

Washington's Jackson Hoyt drubbed Kennedy's Quinn Jamrock, 6-0, 6-0, at No.1 singles. Hoyt did not play doubles.

J-Hawks get the (tie)breaks in win over Cougars

Jefferson won three third-set tiebreakers and pulled out a 6-3 win over Kennedy in boys tennis Tuesday at Kennedy.

Zach Denny and David Shuman won tiebreakers in singles for the J-Hawks to help Jefferson to a 4-2 lead. Caleb Pfeil and Bruce Croy teamed to win a tiebreaker in doubles.

Jacob Donald and Daniel Britton won singles and doubles matches for the J-Hawks.

Kennedy boys split with Dubuque teams

The Kennedy boys split a pair of tennis meets Saturday at Kennedy.

The Cougars were beaten by Dubuque Senior, 7-2, but bounced back to beat Dubuque Hempstead, 7-2.

Nate Kenworthy was a four-time winner for the Cougars, claiming a pair of wins in each meet.

Kennedy boys drop tennis meet to Wahlert

Dubuque Wahlert won four of six singles matches and defeated Kennedy, 6-3, Thursday in boys tennis at Kennedy.

Brett Blomberg and Michael Abramson notched singles wins for the Cougars.

Kennedy's No.3 doubles team of Corey Duncan and Tommy Phan also won in a tiebreaker.

Kennedy is 3-6.
