Kennedy girls trim J-Hawk netters

Sarah Lasecki, Lindsay Minder, Alexa Mitchell, Rachel Gilman and Melanie Abzug won their singles matches Thursday as Kennedy edged Jefferson, 5-4, in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meet at Kennedy.

Lasecki defeated Crystal Terman, 10-2, at No. 1 singles.

Kennedy used 12 different players in the meet, with six girls playing singles and six other girls playing doubles.

Kennedy girls serve up victory

The Cedar Rapids Kennedy girls tennis team defeated Dubuque Hempstead, 6-3, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Kennedy on Monday.

Lindsay Minder, Alexa Mitchell and Rachel Gilman won their individual matches to give Kennedy a 3-3 split in singles competition. The Cougars (8-1) swept all three doubles matches.

Kennedy pounds Prairie in tennis, 7-2

Kennedy won all six singles matches and beat Prairie, 7-2, Saturday afternoon in girls tennis.

Sarah Lasecki beat Bri Kalous, 10-1, at No. 1 singles. Kennedy used 12 different players.

Kennedy's morning match with Washington was postponed.

Cougars crush Cedar Falls in girls tennis

Kennedy's Sarah Lasecki crushed Katie Todd of Cedar Falls, 10-1, at No. 1 singles and the Cougars rolled past the Tigers, 7-2, Tuesday in girls tennis at Kennedy.

Kennedy won five of six singles matches to clinch the win, then took two pf three doubles matches.

Lasecki, Katherine Thompson and Lindsay Minder all were double winners for the Cougars.
