Kennedy girls rally to beat Xavier netters

Kennedy won all three doubles matches and came from behind to beat Xavier, 5-4, Tuesday in girls tennis at Xavier.

Kennedy's Melanie Abzug and Rachel Gilman beat Jean Bouchard and Devin Hayes in a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles to win the meet.

Xavier won four of six singles matches to take a 4-2 lead. The Saints' Laura Birky beat Sarah Lasecki, 11-9, at No. 1 singles. Lasecki and Lindsay Minder came back to beat Birky and Allison Jasper, 10-8, at No. 1 doubles.

Kennedy girls spank Rams, 8-1

Sarah Lasecki, Alexa Mitchell, Rachel Gilman and Marissa Don Diejo won their singles matches Saturday afternoon as the Cedar Rapids Kennedy girls tennis team defeated Dubuque Senior, 8-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Kennedy.

Lasecki defeated Ashton Stopplemoor, 10-6, at No. 1 singles.

Kennedy's meet against Dubuque Hempstead Saturday morning was postponed
due to wet grounds.

Kennedy's Sarah Lasecki beat the Wahawks' Elma Boganovic at No. 1 singles, 10-4. Alexa Mitchell and Rachel Gilman blanked their singles foes, 10-0.
