Williams leads Lions by Washington

Nathan Williams rolled a 233 game and a 416 series to lead the Linn-Mar boys bowling team to a 2,826 to 2,606 win over Washington in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Chris Schuttloffel had a 221 game and a 420 series to lead the Warriors.

Johnson, Williams lead Lions by Wahlert

The Linn-Mar boys bowling team beat Dubuque Wahlert 2,953 pins to 2,559 Friday at home.

Alex Johnson rolled a 265 game for the Lions and Nathan Williams had a 449 series.

Wyant leads Lions in loss to Tigers

WATERLOO - Ryan Wyant rolled a 444 2-game series to lead Linn-Mar, but it wasn't enough as the Lions dropped a boys bowling match to Cedar Falls on Monday at Maple Lanes.

The Tigers, led by Brandon Jerome's 496, downed Linn-Mar, 3,279-2,950.

Alex Diercks also scored well for the Lions, finishing with a 400 series.

Linn-Mar wins title at Prairie bowling

The Linn-Mar Lions topped Davenport North, 2-0, in the championship match of the Prairie Baker boys bowling tournament Saturday at Lancer Lanes.

Jefferson defeated Kennedy, 2-1, in the consolation match for third place.

Linn-Mar was seeded third for the playoffs, but the Lions bumped off Iowa City in the quarterfinals and beat No. 2 seed Jefferson in the semifinals before upending top-seeded Davenport North in the finals.

Sixteen teams competed in the event.
